06 July 2009
The Go-Ahead Group plc (Go-Ahead) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mike Hodson as Managing Director, London Midland
with effect from 20 July 2009.
Keith Ludeman, Group Chief Executive of Go-Ahead and Chairman of
Govia said:
“Mike Hodson was Managing Director of Thames Trains from
2003 to 2004, and has most recently been the Operations and Safety
Director of Southeastern, and deputy Managing Director.
“Mike has led the key Southeastern timetable change of
December 2007, which helped drive Southeastern operating
performance to record levels, and has been instrumental in the
successful introduction of the High Speed preview service.
Work on the December 2009 timetable, which will launch the full
High Speed service, together with the most radical overhaul of the
Southeastern timetable for 50 years, is largely
complete.”
Steve Banaghan, the current Managing Director, will leave London
Midland on 17 July and will take up an international position later
this year. Go-Ahead wishes Steve well in this next stage of his

include the operation of new high speed trains on the domestic

significantly reducing current journey times.

Go-Ahead is one of the UK's largest bus operators. With a fleet
of over 3,400 buses, we carry, on average, around 1.6 million
passengers every day. Our operations are focused on high density

20% market share, where we provide regulated services for TfL. We
operate deregulated services in the north east; Oxford; the south
east and southern England.
AVIATION SERVICES
The Group's aviation services division is one of the UK's
largest independent providers of cargo services (primarily Plane
Handling), ground handling (primarily Aviance UK) and car parking
(Meteor). The division operates from 14 airports and services major
airline operators such as British Airways (BA), Virgin and bmi.
Market leading services within Meteor include 'Meet & Greet'
and 'Pink Elephant' services.
