Go-Ahead shortlisted for northern and TransPennine express
The Go-Ahead Group is pleased to learn its joint venture partnership, Govia, with Keolis, has been shortlisted to bid for the Northern franchise. Also, as Keolis Go-Ahead Limited, the Group is being considered for TransPennine Express.
Go-Ahead Chief Executive, David Brown, said:

The Northern and TransPennine Express franchises carried more than 110 million passengers last year, covering inter-urban commuter and rural routes.

The rail operation, Govia, is 65 per cent owned by Go-Ahead and 35 per cent by Keolis. It is the busiest rail operation in the UK, responsible for nearly 30 per cent of all UK passenger rail journeys through its three rail franchises: Southern (which includes the Gatwick Express), Southeastern and London Midland. From 14 September 2014 Govia will also be operating the TSGN franchise.
