Southeastern's swab testing for Covid-19

Our bus and rail companies have enhanced their cleaning regimes in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Southeastern has implemented swab testings at stations and high touch areas to keep colleagues safe.

Southeastern has completed its first phase of Coronavirus swab testing to ensure the effectiveness of their additional cleaning measures.  Swab tests were carried out at five key commuter stations including Ashford International, Chatham, Lewisham, Sevenoaks and Strood, and all results came back negative with no traces of Covid-19 having been tested in a laboratory.

The operator has invested approximately £400,000 in extra cleaning to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment for passengers and employees.

Ashford 2.jpegSoutheastern will be continuing the programme into 2021. At five randomly selected stations swab testing will be carried out at each site on 80% public areas and 20% colleague areas.

At Go-Ahead, we are doing everything we can to make people feel safe and supported when either travelling or working with us. The results of Southeastern's testing demonstrates our dedication to helping everyone travel safely.
