Work for us
We understand the importance of apprenticeships and the vital role they play in upskilling our team and the industry. We are the only public transport operator registered as an approved in-house provider of apprenticeships across both bus and rail.
Bus apprenticeships at Go-Ahead – launching world-class bus engineering training centres in the UK.
We’re launching a pioneering bus engineering apprentice programme in the UK with training schools in the country’s North and South. The apprenticeship programme sets a new standard for the industry, by focusing on cutting-edge training in fleet electrification and sustainable transport.
Our tailored curriculum covers everything from mechanical and body trades to zero-emission bus qualifications, preparing apprentices for a future in engineering, with opportunities and support for career progression into management.
Delivered in state-of-the-art classrooms and controlled environments, apprentices gain hands-on experience with the latest buses and tools, learning in real-world scenarios. Our apprentices are at the forefront of the zero-emission future of public transport, ready to lead the way forward.
Applications for our apprenticeship programme will open in mid-2025. Full details about the programme and how to apply will be shared later this year.
Rail apprenticeships
We offer rail apprenticeships through our UK operating company Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR). These apprenticeships span a wide range of roles, from engineering and business administration to customer service, train driving, as well as team leadership and management.
These apprenticeship programmes provide nationally recognised qualifications, alongside the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to thrive in the rail industry. With hands-on training and real-world experience, our apprentices are empowered to build rewarding careers, helping to shape the future of rail transport.
