Morse Coaches joins Go-Ahead Group
Go-Ahead has strengthened its position as one of the UK’s leading coach operators with the acquisition of Morse Coaches, a well-established North Yorkshire operator with deep community ties, including long-standing work with North Yorkshire Council and a fleet of 38 vehicles.
Morse Coaches becomes the fifth coach business to join East Yorkshire Buses, following last year’s acquisitions of Procters, Esk Valley, Fourway Coaches and Compass Royston. These additions have significantly expanded Go-Ahead’s coaching footprint across Yorkshire.
East Yorkshire Buses now serves customers from Hull to Middlesbrough and from Scarborough to Leeds and will soon introduce 27 new zero-emission buses—adding to its fleet of more than 400 buses and coaches.
Go-Ahead has also recently welcomed other coach operators across the UK, including Pulhams, Regency and Pearces Coaches. These businesses allow Go-Ahead to support an even broader range of customers, including private hire and schools.
Matt Carney, CEO, Go-Ahead Bus, said: “Morse Coaches’ strong local presence and commitment to customer service make them a valuable addition to our growing coaching operations. Over the past few years, we’ve steadily expanded our coach offer so we can serve even more customers in our communities.”
Ben Gilligan, Managing Director, East Yorkshire Buses, added: “We’re delighted to welcome everyone at Morse Coaches to the East Yorkshire Buses family. Their dedication to delivering safe, reliable and punctual services aligns perfectly with our values, and we look forward to working together to serve customers across the region.”
Andrew Morse, Managing Director, Morse Coaches, said: “We’re proud to join East Yorkshire Buses and the wider Go-Ahead Group. This marks an exciting new chapter for Morse Coaches and for our customers.”
