Go-Ahead begins operating bus services in Tampines

Go-Ahead Singapore has begun operating bus services in Tampines, marking a major milestone in its continued growth in Singapore.

The launch of services follows a successful mobilisation of a new contract, awarded by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA).

Under the new contract, Go-Ahead Singapore will operate over 400 buses serving 29 routes from the new five-storey East Coast Bus Depot over two phases in July 2026. They will serve key transport hubs including Tampines Bus Interchange, Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange, Tampines North Bus Interchange and Changi Business Park Bus Terminal.

Go-Ahead Group is a leader in zero-emission transport and will bring this expertise to the Singapore market as they introduce 260 zero-emission buses into service. It will also introduce its experience in running world-class Operational Control Centres, including real time battery health and on road performance across the network to ensure uninterrupted service levels for customers.

As well as safe, reliable and sustainable journeys, customers can also expect a range of initiatives designed to enhance their travel experience, including more inclusive facilities at interchanges and community-focused programmes.

Go-Ahead Singapore has grown to over 2,000 colleagues with a fleet of over 900 buses.

Matt Carney, CEO – Go-Ahead Bus, said: “This is a proud and exciting moment for Go-Ahead as we begin operating in Tampines, almost doubling our presence in Singapore. This is our tenth year of operating in Singapore and we’re incredibly grateful to the LTA for their continued partnership. We’re delighted to bring our expertise in zero-emission transport and innovation to Tampines and look forward to supporting Singapore’s ambitions for a greener public transport network.”

Leonard Lee, Managing Director, Go-Ahead Singapore, said: We’re really proud to begin serving the Tampines community. Our colleagues have worked incredibly hard to deliver a smooth start to services, and we’re proud to welcome customers on board. We look forward to delivering safereliable and comfortable public transport, in partnership with the LTA.”
